Miss Dakota
Dakota Ferreiro aka “Miss Dakota”is a well-known burlesque performer and captivating on-camera personality who is putting the classic art of burlesque in the contemporary Hollywood spotlight. Combining the art of “tease” with extensive training in all genres of dance from ballet to salsa to flamenco to jazz and her Puerto Rican flare, Miss Dakota is at the top of her game as a burlesque performer and much more. As the headlining act at exclusive, upscale nightclub Forty Deuce both in Los Angeles and Las Vegas for the past three years, Dakota captivates her audiences dancing to the tunes of a sultry 3-piece band in her extravagant custom-designed costumes. Her signature burlesque act has been the highlight of many high profile A-list events including legendary musician Sting’s birthday party, M.A.C. Cosmetics Spring Launch, the House of Campari with W Magazine, VOGUE Magazine’s party for the annual Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Gala in New York City, Red Bull, and the Rock Your Fashion series with AOL & 944 Magazine.
Based on the wild popularity of Forty Deuce, Dakota starred in the Zalman King-directed docu-drama series “Forty Deuce” on Bravo which chronicled the opening of the first Forty Deuce club in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino and showed her fans a behind-the-scenes look at the training, preparation (and drama…) involved in her show. She has appeared as an actor and dancer in blockbuster films such as “Collateral” starring Tom Cruise and Samuel L. Jackson, and “Bad Boys II” starring Will Smith, independent films like “Bad Reputation” and “Stiletto,” as well as television shows like the Will Smith-produced series “All of Us.” Other television appearances include Carson Daly’s “30 Seconds of LA,” Oprah, and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. During her career as a professional dancer and choreographer, she graced the stage and screen with legendary artists including Enrique Iglesias, Gypsy Kings, Prince, George Michael, Maroon 5, and Marco Antonio Solis.
Growing up in the Bronx, Dakota, of Puerto Rican and German descent, always followed her passion to perform and was destined to become a star from a young age. She started dancing at the age of 5, studying early on at the Bronx Dance Theatre under renowned faculty and then received an arts scholarship to Fieldston Arts Academy, where she was also bitten by the acting bug. While attending Lincoln High School for Performing Arts in Westchester, NY, her professional dance career began and her passion for acting grew. She received a scholarship to join David Mamet’s prestigious Atlantic Theatre Company and continued to study acting at HB Studios in New York City and later in Los Angeles with renowned acting coach Aaron Spieser. Rounding out her dance training, Dakota also studied ballroom and Latin dance under world champion competition dancers.
A dynamic on-air personality, Dakota has hosted segments for Maxim TV’s “The Girlie Show,” pop-music channel MuchMusic, and was the spokesperson for “Forty Deuce” for many appearances across the country including a stint as the “Sexy Expert” host for a nationally-syndicated morning news Valentine’s Day Special. Most recently, Dakota is sharing her enthusiasm for the art of burlesque, dance, and fitness through a fun and sexy workout she created called “The Burlesque Body by Dakota” that allows women to let go of their inhibitions and build confidence while slimming down and toning. The Burlesque Body workout is currently offered at exclusive gyms and private workshops in Los Angeles and is on the rise in the Hollywood scene. Dakota is also currently in discussions to host her own television show called “What’s Your Tease?”
